Eastons Heart Update

Today was a busy day in the NICU for my little ones. They all had their eyes tested, heads scanned, and eastons heart echo. Everyone’s eyes are fine. They will get checked again in 14 days. There were three of the kids that had minor brain bleeds. Two of the girls had level one in the past. Today theirs are normal. Eastons was a level two and today is has decreased but still a level 2. His echo still saw a minor left ventricle issue but it has slightly decreased. So that is good news. It hasn’t worsen and it has slightly gotten better over time. Hooray. Also found out today that they are doing so well they are moving everyone to another part of the NICU. The room they are moving to is for babies that are not in critical need and just for feeding and growing. Moving up in the world.

Today I looked at car seats. That is a big task. I have never been so picky with getting a car seat. I want to make sure the babies will fit just right since they are so little. Then I also want the car seats to last a long time. I cant believe some car seats cost 350.00 per each one. That is just crazy. Good thing I dont like the expensive ones! LOL

About quintsofkentuckiana

Hello and Welcome to the Kessinger-Clark Family! My name is Christy and my wonderful husbands name is Bill. We currently have three children. Ty is 9 yrs old, Tayleigh is 5 yrs old, and Tanner is 2 yrs old. Tanner has Down Syndrome but is the light of our family! My husband works as a IT network administrator and I quit working as a HR Manager when Tanner was 6 months old due to him being the hospital so many times. We decided to have just one more child but found out we are expecting QUINTUPLETS. No we did not do invetro or see an RE doctor. I had my IUD taken out, took some medication that was herbal and over the counter, and medicine for enlarged ovaries. But the medication was at the lowest doseage. Now we are trying to figure out how we are going to manage such a large family!

You could get Recaros….they start at 5lbs and grow with them up to like 60lbs! Be the last seat you ever need. And they are the makers of the Nascar seats so they gotta be good, right, lol.

Our kids were too small for anything but the Chicco KeyFits when we brought them home. Of course, we didn’t find this out until we were doing the car seat tests on the day we had to pick them up! Luckily, the hospital “vouchered” three of the four seats, and we only had to pay for one ($125) instead of four. I would ask your NICU nurses if your hospital could do something like that for you guys!!

I’d go with Chicco Keyfits, I know they are really expensive BUT they do fit little babies well and will last longer than other seats. The one to stay away from is the evenflo infant seats, they require the handle to be down and 1.5 inches of clearance between the infant seat and the seat in front. (plus they are wide and hard to install.) Car seats are a passion of mine and I’m glad to see you are doing research before purchasing! 🙂 Good luck with everything!

Glad to hear they are doing so well. How much do they each weigh now? Must be exciting to be shopping for stuff so they can come home. The hospital probably has some tips are car seats that work best for premies too.

  5. Please check out ProjectTiny.org. We’d love to work with you!

I thought of you today when I ran across this on craigslist. It’s a 2006 10 passenger van. 🙂

    God Bless!
